Salvage: to rescue or save especially from wreckage or ruin

[ARTful] Salvage was born from a love of creating, repurposing and salvaging. I simply abhor seeing perfectly "useful" items headed for the landfill or tucked away in a cardboard box, never seeing the light of day. I believe there is always beauty to be found, even under a layer of rust or a coating of dust. I see scratches, dents or imperfections as badges of honor to be worn proudly. I have a great love for the history, story and life of a piece. We lovingly dream up ways of restoring new life to these discarded and neglected fragments of life. I am glad you are here and hope you will come again often. Please make yourself at home; friends are always welcome. I'd be thrilled to hear from you and get to know you better.

Gearing up for a new show.....

We were fortunate to be chosen to attend an upcoming ART show on April 16th. It is the ART and Soul Festival in Winter Haven, FL. It is hosted by Drops of Jupiter. Please come by and say hello if you are in the area! :)

I am feverishly working on some new ART for the show. Currently on the work table are some stained glass mosaic windows. I have 4 I'd like to get completed.....one is finished except for the grouting. (And that my friends is Hub's job) <---smiles. This one that I can share is an all-over multi-color pattern that has been popular. Each one is unique and bright and full of color.

Also on the "in my head creating" list are: a chevron Frank Lloyd Wright inspired window, a 9 pane flower garden explosion, a very geometric squares, and some happy flamingos. :) That should keep me busy this week, don't you think? My current windows for sale can be found in my Etsy shop. I will be adding more pieces as time permits over the next two weeks. I will happily design a custom window for you too......just let me know! :)

I was extremely blessed by a dear friend before I moved to FL with the contents of her glass studio. One of the best gifts I rec'd was a set of 5 Five Gallon Buckets worth of glass pieces......yes.....5 Five Gallon Buckets. So, my challenge now is to draw up designs that allow me to use up these wonderful and colorful snippets of glass.
Bucket 'O Glass
5 gallons of Heaven
As you can see by the pics the glass is very dirty and covered in glass dust......so before I could use it I gave it a bath. Isn't it pretty just laying there on the counter drying?

Like an unassembled rainbow
Shiny gems
Anywho....here are some shots of window number one in various stages of completion!

  5. Nice! How has it held up? Able to clean it alright? I'm thinking that no color glass (other than white) might be cool, too.
